Vendors Comments "Having five kids is a real test of a house - luckily this one has passed!" For Maria and Chris the family home has had to cope with having quite a family. "We've got five children now, although when we moved in there were just the three little ones," explains Maria. "They're all kinds of ages as well - the oldest is 15, the second is 14, then we have ones who are 10 and five and the youngest is three. The great thing is that they've all got their own space if they want it. The two little ones tend to play in the hallway - it's a good size and we keep the toys under the stairs so they're handy. The two eldest are normally in front of the television or in their own room and the middle one is normally at the computer in the study. Then there's the conservatory. That's an adult's room - we keep it pristine and the children aren't allowed in there at all. It's great to just slide in there and have a few quiet moments. The garden's a fair size too - we've got a large patio and a play area and there's still room for the kids to play rounders and football - they use the swings as a goal post. The garden is also enclosed so it feels safe to let them play in there. "I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, I'm never out of it - it's where a woman normally lives after all. I love this kitchen. It's a very relaxing space; there's plenty of room to work and for all of us to sit down and eat. It's good when the family can all have meals together - there are even some rare occasions when I escape in here and watch television on my own. The utility room is a fair size and the garden has enough room for a massive washing line - which is very useful when there are seven of us." The surroundings have suited the family of seven too. "There's quite a rural feel here, despite it being so accessible," says Maria. "We look out partly onto fields - there's a nice looking cottage at the bottom.
