Game Overview
Call of Duty Finest Hour is the newest War First Person Shooter on the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube and let's just put it this way EA are going to have to pull something pretty amazing to beat Call of Duty Finest Hour because we think that we have crowned a new champion!
With many of the Medal Of Honour games it never really felt like you were in the war, there was usually something that happened that made you think "Yeah, Righto!" But with Call Of Duty Finest Hour you are taken right to the heart of the action into towns, trenches, boat landings, defending buildings with nothing but a sniper rifle, Call of Duty is stunning.
It has simply amazing graphics, excellent game play that is not too easy but not too hard although you will find yourself struggling on occasions. When you play this game make sure you shut the door, if you have surround sound, stick it on and crank the volume up, the sound is amazing and you will be ducking for cover in the comfort of your armchair, having the volume up really adds that extra thrill to the game as you will be able to hear all the detail that Activision have put into Call of Duty Finest Hour and you will actually think someone is walking up behind you.
As we have said Call of Duty Finest Hour takes you in to the real battle grounds, you will be required to do a lot of missions along the way, each one testing your courage and ability. If at first you don't succeed try and try again, that's the only thing you should be telling yourself when a German pops his rifle around the corner and wipes you out. You know he is there next time though!
Some people would say "we don't want to hear anymore about the war, its over, the first couple of war games were ok but that's enough now", well, maybe those people are right but then maybe those people should come to us and try their luck at Call of Duty, we guarantee they wont be saying that once we have finished with them, we have ways of making people think twice!

Our Conclusions
So, will Activision carry on and make a series with Call of Duty like EA have made a good life span out of Medal of Honour, well we would like to hope so. Although none of us will ever know what it was like to be in WWI or WWII this is as close as we will get to it and this is scary enough, respect to the Veterans of both Wars, you guys had testicular fortitude! Don't bother hiring this game first, it's a waste of £3.75 just go and buy it! We will even help you save some money.
Overall Score: 8.5/10
Thanks to Chris Swanson (BlokesOnly.com's King of Games) and Tim Ponting at Activision for making this review possible.
