Game Overview
Wherever you go in the world there will always be conflict between two similar items, PS2 fans will argue to the death that their console is better than a Gamecube and vice versa, Arsenal fans will always have a rivalry with Man Yoo fans and in the world of Football Sims there is no change, FIFA or Pro Evo? Well that's your decision to make!
We here at BlokesOnly are fans of both; we believe football is THE greatest sport to grace this planet and anything to do with football is GOOD! FIFA 2005, to cut it short, has impressed us! Whatever EA game you pick up you are guaranteed outstanding graphics and amazing attention to detail, FIFA 2005 has definitely not let the EA tradition down.
The usual game play is installed into the game from the start; all that's changed obviously is the layout and the updates to players and teams. Kits are almost spot on and sponsors are all accounted for, commentary from the one and only Andy Gray as per usual and Mr Ally McCoist is a real touch!
One thing that we have noticed not just with FIFA 2005 but really with the last few is that players facial features and how much they actually look like their real life counterpart is really "hit and miss", the Arsenal squad seem to be near as dam it all with the exception of Bergkamp, he looks like he is about 15! Then move on too the infamous Crystal Palace, if you can find me one player in their squad that looks remotely like the real life model, well, we'd like to see it. The smaller teams seem to always be rushed and FIFA 2005 is no different at all, it's a real shame that more time is not taken on perfecting something that the FIFA range is known for.
We also found it quite hard to get the right camera angle, we always seemed to be too far away from the pitch, we like to be right down and in the action and experiencing what the PS2 and EA are capable of but this was pretty hard to achieve as we couldn't seem to get close enough.
The competition you can have with fellow gamers online really gives it an edge over other football sim games, but with FIFA we still preferred having a good old fashioned 90 minute thrashing against each other, its all good beating the heck out of some bloke you have never met before, but we definitely prefer beating the living daylights out of each other and our mates.

Our Conclusions
We could write all day about this game, it's a pretty darn good, but we have a limit to how much we can write. FIFA has some very stiff competition as usual, Pro Evolution 4 being the most obvious, we are pretty sure that as usual it will be up there competing, just like you can guarantee Man Yoo will be there or there abouts! FIFA has built up this aura of a perfect game but at the end of the day, no game is perfect, FIFA like all games has its flaws but it just does a better job at concealing them. Well worth a play!!
If you have always wanted to tour some of the biggest stadiums England, we might be able to help you out with a Stadium Tour.
