Game Overview
How can you compete with trashing construction sites, villages and completely destroying everything on your American muscle car, the answer is, you can't! We know that people think if a game isn't quite up to scratch with graphics then it's not worth playing, but FlatOut is! FlatOut is a mix between Colin McRae, Dukes of Hazard, Destruction Derby and some insane game where you can throw your little driver out of the car at 100mph (we don?t know of one), that's right, you heard us, you can throw your man out of the car! This will all make sense in a minute.
As you work on beating the other racers in career mode you are rewarded money for destroying and wrecking stuff strategically placed on the circuit, you now have a reason to destroy tire walls, scaffolding and of course your fellow competitors. This money can be spent on buying some upgrades for your car, and you buy these upgrades from what only can be described as a scrap yard! None of that poncy new and expensive gear that you find in Max Power! Upgrade the engine, Exhaust, Brakes, Tires and Framework all from the comfort of the scrap yard, and you can adjust them to required settings although it's so much fun destroying things and racing you won't wanna bother with that.
Be careful though, if you stack into something too hard and fast your driver will fly through the front windscreen and tumble down the road like a rag doll, arms and legs flying everywhere, which brings me nicely onto my next point. If you think FlatOut is all about racing you're wrong, the bonus rounds will have you creasing up with laughter for hours! Im not going to go into these too much as it will ruin the surprise but burning down a ramp and launching your driver through the air to get him as far as possible in the long jump is the best idea and the most fun we have had with a game in ages.
