Game Overview
We are going to get straight to the point with Ghost Recon 2, really, we didn't like it. It had a lot of trouble getting inside our minds and making us play for hours on end, like you all know we do.
We immediately found ourselves getting really wound up with the slow loading time, but thought, wow, it must be loading huge levels!? it wasn't. We thought that Ghost Recon 2 was going to be about stealth and not being spotted, sneaking up on unsuspecting guards and troops and blowing their brains out, but it wasn't. We were expecting it to be a free roaming game so the enemy doesn't know where you're coming from and you have the element of surprise over your enemies, but, it wasn't. In fact what we are given is a game that is really nothing but a bog standard shoot em up. There really isn't any stealth involved, as soon as you decide to shoot someone the whole of the enemy know where you are, and then it's just an onslaught! We also found the game play was very slow and never really got us excited once so when you were trying to run about shooting at anything that moved it never really felt lifelike.
The training level that you can select from the main menu is??.well?? a waste of time really. For someone who hasn't played a game of a similar nature before they would be better off just jumping straight in to the game, kind of a 'Hit & Hope' approach to the game. The training level doesn't tell you what button is what, doesn't tell you where to go once you have finished a task and really didn't teach us much at all. Was it put there to use up a bit of disk space? Who knows, all we know is that, it wasn't helpful.
Now, it is very hard for us to criticize computer games, we love them so much, ok, so we aren't overly keen on Ubisoft's latest addition to their portfolio, and we have maybe been a little harsh, but the truth has to be told. The graphics on the other hand are pretty good, the cut scenes were very impressive, it was also quite a challenging game, but that's about all we could find that we liked about the game. We just can't understand why this game wasn't free roaming and why you are unable to select different team members, it would have been a completely different game if it was and we might have found ourselves partly impressed with it.

Our Conclusions
We want to say to you that this is a top class game, that will keep you entertained for hours, but we can't. However you might be one of those people who likes games like this, in which case, buy it! But unfortunately this isn't for us and the BlokesOnly team just wasn't stimulated by it.
Hire it out see what you think!
Overall Score: 4/10
Thanks to BlokesOnly's King of Games Chris Swanson and Faye from Ubisoft, without them this review would not be possible. Special thanks to Dale "Trendy" Bedwell for his help on the review.
