Game Overview
Well we are here to review games and give it to you straight, so if you have any doubt about whether or not to go out and spend your hard earned cash on Harry Potter or go and blow it on going to the football then carry on reading and hopefully we will be able to give you a little bit of help!
To be honest, we aren’t really big fans of Harry Potter, we can think of better things to do than sit down and read a book that you have queued hours for at midnight in the pouring rain and freezing cold! Nutters! We thought the game might give us an insight into the world of Harry Potter and might make us go out and enjoy one of the films, we got to say that it didn't.
We are going to start with the graphics, they were average but really nothing special which is what everyone has come to expect from EA, look at games such as Tiger Woods, Lord of the Rings etc etc the graphics in them take your breath away but Harry Potter doesn't really get you excited at all and wont test your PS2 out at all.
The gameplay itself is pretty frustrating, we did find that a lot of the controls were hard to get to grips with and a lot of the time instead of defending yourself against enemies and casting some nerve tingling spells on them you will find yourself casting a spell on the helpless tree next to you, this happened to us one more than one occasion and does get a bit annoying, it takes a while to get used to the controls but once you get there you should have many problems.
There isn't much we can say about the overall sounds of the game, they are probably by far the best aspect of the game and are pretty good, the voices are spot on (apparently) and impressed all the Harry Potter Fans we showed the game too, in fact one of them actually ended up pinching the game from our BO offices!
There were two things that stood out to us and really beefed the game up a bit to make it an alright game, one was the Multiplayer where you can enjoy running around casting spells with your mates and also that EA have taken away the Movie aspect of the game so if you haven’t seen the film don't worry, the game wont ruin the film for you (again, this was an observation of someone else who has actually seen the film).

Our Conclusions
Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire is a good game if you are into Harry Potter, if you want to get into Harry Potter then this really isn't going to do it for you, don’t get us wrong, it is a good game but it wont appeal to non Harry Potter fans, an acquired taste shall we say. Could have done with a little bit more touching up in places but a sound game if you love the Potster!
Overall Score: 7/10
Thanks to EA and New Media Maze
