Game Overview
The first thing that will strike you about this game when you start playing the intense story mode is that there is no Health Meters, Cursors or anything of that nature, nothing to deter your view, Ubisoft have built a game that they want to appear as a movie, none of that rubbish getting in the way, you wouldn't have a life bar in the top left hand corner of the screen when watching the film, would you? Clever thinking by the gaming giants!
You as the player are taken on a journey through Skull Island, coming up against every animal and creature seen in the King Kong movie trailers and a lot lot more! It will strike you as quite a slow game and may not seem to exciting when compared to other shooter adventures, but make sure to give it time and King Kong will have you hooked and screaming for more!
The graphics are simply amazing! Make sure you unlock the Black & White filter and turn that on, it's hard to believe but the graphics actually get better. Some of the dinosaurs do look a little bit ropey, animations are a little bit crappy for some of them and maybe a little bit more work could have been put into them looking a bit more realistic but on the other hand some of the dinosaurs look ridiculously good!
As Ubisoft have tried to make this game play like the movie they have to copy almost everything across to the game, including the sounds, to be honest they aren't all that bad but the music that is played when you are attacked does get a little bit annoying and you will find yourself turning the volume down after a while!
A great mixture of controlling Man or Beast, controlling Man see the game turn into a FPS, reminded us very much of Turok! Then when you control King Kong the game turns into an all out brawl of Dinosaur bashing anger! Having this feature really does give the game two completely different feels to the game and sometimes gives you the feeling that you are playing 2 completely different games! Well played Ubisoft!

Our Conclusions
Not quite what we were expecting to be honest, it is quite slow and the movie part does swamp the game a little too much and doesn't really give it a computer game feel. However, the game is very addictive and once you have started it you will want to continue through to the end, great attempt and visually very impressive! It shouldn't really be missed out on but we would recommend hiring it before you make that all important purchase.
Overall Score: 8/10
