Game Overview
First thing you will notice about this game is that A) It isn't modern, not even in the slightest and B) It doesn't make any efforts in trying to be modern! Kuon ultimately could have been released on the original Playstation and no one would have battered an eyelid. The graphics are very poor but we get the feeling that hardcore Japanese Horror fans don't buy these types of games for the graphics!
We would recommend not playing this one with the lights off, definitely have a spare pare of boxer shorts to hand and if possible play it with some mates and make sure things are going on all the time, DO NOT get drawn in to Kuon, before you no it you will be laying on the floor twitching, dribbling and crying for your mummy! You thought Resident Evil made you jump when you were younger, you ain't seen nothing yet!
Luckily because the graphics are pretty shocking the game isn't as scary as it could have been, with top end PS2 graphics we are pretty certain Kuon would be on the whole a much better and scarier game, although to be honest it doesn't need to be any scarier, however the graphics do let this title down.
The gameplay although tricky to get the hang of once you have played it for half an hour you will find yourself killing enemies with not much trouble at all, it's a fairly simple, kill, kill, puzzle game with the usual very annoying fixed camera angle.

Our Conclusions
There really isn't anything in Kuon which made us want to continue to play the game over and over, nothing seems to have been added to make it better than other Horror titles or different in any way, its not going to be an easy game to find but we can't imagine that annoying too many people, its definitely not for us and we would only recommend it to Japanese Horror fans.
Overall Score: 5/10
Thanks to Anna Waldron for sending Kuon in to the BO offices!
