Game Overview
Mercenaries takes on a now all too familiar "deck of cards" theme to it, remember the US government saying that Saddam Hussain was the "Ace of Spades". After Americas Most Wanted never really took off Activision have followed the same idea but with fictional characters. In a weird, blood shedding way it kinda works!
This Third Person Shooter is based in North Korea, chose your abled character from a selection of three (each have their own abilities and weaknesses that do have an effect on how the game is played) and away you go, be warned you really do need to have eyes in the back of your head. The first level is just a complete free for all, bombs blowing up everywhere, people shooting at you from all angles and you have to drive straight through the centre of it all! NICE!
A very neat feature that they have included in Mercenaries is the ability to blow pretty much any item up, people, cars, turrets and buildings as well as being able to interact with everything! By the time you and the enemy have finished the place looks like it has been hit by a bomb, although this time it actually has. And you know what makes this feature even better is that fact that the levels are huge! Loads of fun! We have seen a few peeps on the internet use the phrase "If you can see it-you can steal it, use it or blow it up" well they aren't far wrong with that one!
As we mentioned earlier the game is based around a deck of cards, ace of spades being the head honcho! This means 52 missions of pure adrenalin packed killing frenzy's. Your team of Mercenaries is motivated by cold hard cash, every time you take out one of the 52 wanted criminals you are rewarded with a hansom sum of cash! Although it does seem a little bit unrealistic and very Hollywood like with one Mercenary going about the missions themselves, but that's what gaming is all about, being able to do things that you will never be able to do in real life
Loads of weapons, loads of vehicles to use, loads of missions, loads of explosions but more importantly loads of insane game play that will have you begging for more, you will be hunting for more enemies to make a mockery of them! Oh so Sweet!

Our Conclusions
Well, Activision are fast becoming one of our favorite developers, their games are taking gaming further and further forwards and always include something ground breaking. Mercenaries has amazing graphics, the best sound effects we have heard in a long time and game play that will astound even the most hardcore gamer! In our books it's a definite winner! If you haven't yet bought or played it, why not??
Overall Score: 8.5/10
Thanks once again to Chris Swanson (Blokesonly's King of Games)and a speacial thanks to Suzanna Panter at Activision, couldn't have done it without you both!
