Game Overview
The Warriors are/were, a New York gang. I don't think we need to say anymore do we? That one statement can pretty much sell the game to almost all PS2 owners.
Let us elaborate a bit for you on the game, errrmmmmm, fighting, steeling, drinking, tagging bit more fighting and ermmmm more fighting! The world brutal comes to mind, but that is what makes this game so much fun, walk around the streets mugging people, beating the living daylights out of them, steeling car stereos, breaking into shops, and general Gang warfare!
The streets of New York are a rough place, we aren’t sure how close this game is too the actual 70's film so we will be purchasing the Film soon as well to have a ganders.
You play many different people in The Warriors gang throughout the game, going out a attempting to complete a lot of "missions". When we say missions we mean mindless acts of violence and criminal activity, Great fun!!!
The graphics in The Warriors are more than good enough, we wouldn't expect top notch for a game like this, it just doesn't need it as there is so much going on you don't have time to take note of them! The lack of a soundtrack is a bit of a shame and the sound of sirens and police shouting at you gets a bit annoying after a while, but as there isn't music to listen too just turn the volume down, unless of course the sound of sirens brings memories back of happier days for you!?
The inclusion of multiplayer story mode as well as rumble mode is a nice touch however it seems as though it was a last minute addition to add the multiplayer story mode as the game plays as a one player game still and the second player will find himself running round with nothing to do at times. One huge problem is the screen split, when the two players get too far away from each other the screen splits which does confuse you for a a few seconds and if you are fighting on the edge of the split screen splitting point then it does get a little annoying going backwards and forwards between full screen and split screen.
The rumble mode enables players to be the head honcho of a gang and fight against the other gang until all of the opposing gang are knocked out. This is a real peach of a multiplayer but can tend to get a little tedious if you don't have many levels unlocked.

Our Conclusions
The Warriors is a fantastic game, very violent so probably not a good one to get your 10 year old nephew for Christmas but a brilliant one for you to pick up and spend some nights in with some beers and your PS2. We are fairly confident you are going to enjoy this one, if you like any of the GTA series you will love this and shouldn't have to much trouble getting to grips with it!
Overall Score: 8.5/10
Thanks to Rockstar and our very own King of Games.
