Game Overview
Having not played the first Toca Race Driver we weren't to sure what to expect with the sequel but we were pleasantly surprised at what was thrown at us through our 28" Widescreen TV! Good graphics, Moorish game play and sound effects that didn?t sound spot on but unlike some games, you could tell the difference between the cars that you get to thrash the living daylights out of around a huge selection of tracks!
TRD2 actually has a storyline, something we don't recall seeing in too many racing games, especially not as good as the storyline in Toca. You begin life in the game as a rookie race driver wanting to make it big in the world of fast cars and beautiful women! Your manager organizes for you, to take part in certain races, like Formula Fords and GT90's, targets are set for you to finish on the podium or to finish within a certain amount of places from Joe Bloggs, completing these enables you to move onto the next race. Eventually, after winning races and championships people start taking an interest in you, as they think you have potential (shows how much they know), before you know it you are racing with the big boys, this is approximately when it starts getting a little tough! Warning: When you get to this point in the game don't play near any walls; walls and controllers dont mix and your controller will come off worse than the wall! We have gone through about half a dozen controllers!
Controller destroying aside, you can have some great fun with this game especially as the game is online compatible! You all know we like our online gaming and think that all games should have it no matter how pants some of them are. Sign up, get online and start racing against some of the best drivers in the world, other gamers! Like all games with online gaming, it really adds another dimension to the game and we were very impressed with its online option, well worth checking it out!

Our Conclusions
Although Toca Race Driver 2 doesn't go down in our books as a classic racing game it is still thoroughly enjoyable and with the aid of a six pack of lagers you can have a very enjoyable night in!
