Tony Hawks Underground 2 by Activision
Available on Playstation 2, Gamecube, Xbox, GBA, PC

We challenge you to find a bad review about this game anywhere on the internet! The fact of the matter is that you won't, you know why? Well that is because with more tricks, a better story line, humour over and over again, a blinding soundtrack and of course the best line up of skaters in the world this latest edition to the Tony Hawk's range is by far the best edition yet.

Game Overview
The guys at Jackass have had a very big influence on this game and as we all know these guys are insane so you can imagine what they are going to be like in Tony Hawks Underground 2. Tony Hawks's games have set a level of coolness that all skating games have tried desperately hard to beat but the fact of the matter is, they haven't and they won't! We didn't think that this 'level of coolness' could be beaten after what we witnessed with Tony Hawks Underground but Activision has proven us all wrong and blown the last one out of the water. In fact they haven't just blown it out of the water they have blown it out of this world! That is how good Tony Hawks Underground 2 is!

Tony Hawks Underground 2 is all about 2 teams. One led by the nutter who we all know and love, Bam Margera, and the other led by the man himself, Tony Hawk (legend), this all gets explained in the opening sequence to the story mode, all we will say for the time being, what would you do if someone confronted you with a chainsaw? (You'll find out what we mean). Anyway the two big honcho's have an idea to take two teams around the world on a world destruction tour ripping up cities on the way and competing against each other. Now when we say ripping up cities we mean ripping up cities, you can jump off of your board and 'Tag' (Graffiti) the walls, Sticker slap the place, knock the heads off of statues, smash doors and windows and generally wreak havoc. Although it is fun doing all those things if you want to get the OK from Tony Hawk to move on to the next city you need to complete set goals, you score points for each of the goals you complete, the scores add up and basically all you have to do is beat Bam Margera's team score, once a certain score is achieved you can move on to the next city. Sounds simple but we all know how frustrating some of the goals can be.

All this sound a bit easy? A bit familiar? Well think again my fellow gamers! This game has bigger cities/parks, more outrageously sized verts and half pipes, more skaters, and the soundtrack although not quite up there with the quality of the first ever Tony Hawk Game is still pretty amazing, Tony Hawks Underground 2 treats you to a whopping 53 tracks including The Distillers, Less Than Jake, Disturbed, Metallica, The Doors and Johnny Cash. Oh and going back to the skate parks bit, remember the first level on Tony Hawks Pro Skater 'The Warehouse' try it now with better graphics, more tricks and a little extension, that?s got you excited hasn't it!

Tony Hawks Underground 2 still has the usual two player modes like horse and trick attack but they have now added 'Scavenger' which is a really good and competitive idea. Basically you start off by skating round your chosen park/city and planting 'treasure' then after the time runs out and you have planted all your 'treasure' you then have to go and find your mates 'treasure', make sense? Good!

Our Conclusions
So, add Tony Hawk, Bam Margera, Wee man, loads of tricks, huge parks and cities, fresh goals a wicked soundtrack and online gaming capability and Tony Hawks Underground 2 may just be one of the greatest games of all time! Or that's what we think anyway. If you have never played a Tony Hawks game in your life now is the time to begin, if you have played them all DON'T STOP! You HAVE TO buy this game!

Overall Score: 8/10
