Game Overview
Both games are virtually identical, nothing differs between them for content, gameplay, loading times or anything like that but for us the PS3 version just edges out the 360 version due to the graphics on cut scenes being marginally better, now if only Sony could come up with a comfortable controller, we'd be laughing!

Dante is back and back with more outrageous and over the top swords, guns and fighting, you'll take on various shaped demons through level after level of challenging and fast paced gameplay but this time comes a new character Nero and you'll quickly find out that DMC4 is really more about Nero than it is Dante.

Graphics are phenomenal, they are superb and like we said earlier, the PS3 pips the 360 at the post when it comes to the cut scenes, maybe a sign of things to come from the PS3? Who knows, but quite frankly, when the games look this damn good on both 360 and PS3, who cares! If you are looking for a reason to go out and bag yourself a new HD telly, this is your opportunity! Your eyes will bulge when you see the visuals that Devil May Cry 4 offer.

Some of the levels are a little bland at times and require you to run back on yourself more times than you would like to, but it is all part of the game play. As you make your way through the levels you'll come across demons, who will (obviously) try to wipe you out. This is when the fun begins and although a little repetitive at times, the button mashing is relentless and you'll string together some awesome looking combos especially if you have the automatic function activated so you don't have to mess about with button sequences.

Devil May Cry 4 is a very cinematic game with huge, dramatic and very pretty cut scenes, the problem with these cut scenes is they don't actually seem to happen. For instance, in mission 2 or 3 (apologies but can't remember exact mission) you are running towards a castle which you need to explore, a women (forget her name, blond hair, massive boobs) jumps out and wipes out about 10 demons in quite a raunchy fashion right in front of you, gave us a bit of a twinge! The cut scene ends and there is no evidence of it what so ever, no demon juice, no severed limbs or bodies, no blood, no weapons, nothing at all. Bit of a disappointment.

Half way through the game you'll take over as Dante and experience somewhat of an adjustment period. This is due to Dante's fighting style being different to Nero. Nero's main feature is his demonic arm called the Devil Bringer, this enables you quite spectacularly to annihilate any enemy with 20 feet of you and link moves to boost your combo score. The problem is, Dante doesn't have this feature and therefore having it taken away from you half way through the game is a right pain in the arse!

Gameplay gets halted quite regularly by loading times and cut scenes but you won't worry about that too much because it is all worth the wait. There are plenty of secret missions dotted around so if you find yourself needing something else to do, look out for these as they do offer up some stiff challenges that just get harder as you get further in the game.

Our Conclusions
Everything seems to be in the right place on both the Xbox 360 and on the Playstation 3, DMC fans have waited a long time for the 4th installment to one of the biggest selling titles in gaming history. It is well worth the wait and although a little bit slow at times with longer than usual loading times and plenty of cut scenes, we are sure that Devil May Cry 4 will have you on the edge of your seat for hours.
