Game Overview
Guy first became involved in rallying when he was 19. In 2000, his first year of rallying, he became the Ford Ka Junior Champion. This spurred him on to compete the following year in the 1400 Puma series where he finished a credible second.
Following Guy’s early success in the sport he moved-up again with a full season in the British Rally championship, finishing second. His performances throughout the season got him noticed by Ford who offered him a seat for the 2003 Junior World Rally Championship, where he ended his inaugural season in sixth place.
It was clear that Guy had a lot of pace and was willing to push to the limit so Suzuki invited him to drive for their works team for the 2004 season. As well as this, he competed in the S1600 British Championship. Guy had a very successful season finishing third in the Junior World Rally Championship and being crowned British Super 1600 Champion.
With such a successful season behind him, Suzuki retained him for the 2005 and 2006 Junior World Rally championships where he was runner-up both years, transmission failure on the final round robbing him of almost certain victory in 2006.
In 2007, looking to further his career, Guy secured sponsorship to embark on a World Rally Championship campaign in a Ford Focus. He also was invited to drive for the Mitsubishi Motors UK Works Team in the British Rally Championship. At present he is lying second in the British Rally Championship with one round still to go after winning three rounds so far this season.
Guy is one of only a handful of British drivers who is regarded as a potential World Champion. Guy says, “I’m really looking forward to the first World Rally Championship round in Ireland. An amazing atmosphere is expected and I’m sure this won’t be the last round to be held in Ireland
Although Guy has been extremely successful, he has still had his fair share of accidents. “You have to push the limit and not beyond! It’s a fine line and a difficult balancing act and sometimes you topple over.
Even in his spare time he doesn’t want to get away from rallying. Guy plays SEGA Rally and has been impressed with what the game has to offer. “I used to be addicted to the old arcade game. The new version of SEGA Rally is awesome and is very realistic. If you keep a clean line, the second time you go around the track the car goes faster and has more grip - this is definitely the case in real life.
The truly stunning ‘King of the Rally’ genre is available in stores now on PS3, Xbox 360, PSP and PC.

Our Conclusions
OK, so you haven't been told to much about Sega Rally itself, but if Guy Wilkes says that it is realistic then it's realistic. Graphics are superb and the gameplay is highly addictive and definitely sticks to it's arcade roots. Having played it intensively on the PS3 we are in love with it, we were massive fans of the original but we do think that it belongs in the arcade with a bucket seat, big screen and steering wheel, paying a pound a go. If you enjoyed the original then you'll definitely enjoy the newest release.
Overall Score: 8/10
