Game Overview
For years we have been playing Command and Conquer and now it finally makes an appearance on a next gen console as well as the usual and trusty old PC. The Xbox 360 is graced with this beauty of a title something that a lot of 360 owners have been looking forward to now for quite some time. It hasn't disappointed!
Set in the future you are able to play through the campaign as either GDI (The good guys) or NOD (The bad guys), the world is becoming more and more covered in Tiberium, a strange crop that the NOD are trying to encourage the growth of and use it for evil and the GDI want to harvest to use for good and make the world habitable again. That’s the gist of Command and Conquer over the years although this year there is now the Scrin, an alien force wanting a piece of the action and looking to take over Earth.
We have to be honest at this point, we'd have preferred to keep the game original and not bother with the Scrin race however it does add a little something extra to the game and prolongs the lifespan quite well. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea but once you get into playing with them they do have some very hand units available to them which can cause mass destruction if used correctly.
Anyway, back to the review! One very nice touch to Tiberium Wars is the use of the Live Vision on Live. If you are going to buy this game, and have a camera, make sure you aren't naked when attempting to play online as the camera will start working and it could be a bit of a shock when a few other blokes from around the world see your tackle!
The campaign is a well thought out slug fest as you aim to visit and clear different countries around the world as the GDI and vice versa if you are NOD. Some nice cheesy cut scenes throughout the campaign will keep you glued to the TV especially with the amount of cleavage being banded about!
The main attraction to Command and Conquer games throughout the years has been the Skirmish mode, where up to 4 teams can have a corner of a map each, build a massive base, loads of infantry and tanks and then rip each other apart, last man standing wins. This can be played offline with the computer, over a local connection or on Live and is probably the best way to get the C&C bug! Skirmish mode is something that Command and Conquer does extremely well and Tiberium Wars is no different.

Our Conclusions
We are fairly confident that Tiberium Wars is going to turn a few heads with its addictive gameplay and definitely convert a few people in to C&C fans which in turn should probably see an increase in Red Alert sales! Tiberium Wars looks good, sounds good and even though it is on a console it plays well, even if it does take 10 minutes to get used to the controls. Hardcore fans will stick to playing it on the PC but don't be put off by the console version; there are some good times to be had!
Overall Score: 7.5/10
