Game Overview
Having a lot of competition in the football management market is always going to trouble companies when they release their new management title, Football Manager, Championship Manager , Fifa Manager and LMA, so as you can see there is very stiff competition but LMA is more geared towards consoles which should give it a bit more of an advantage.
Loading it up and getting stuck into a game is very easy to do, it doesn't take much thinking about as the game does rope you in and becomes quite addictive (as most football sim games do). The problem we found with LMA is that it was a little too easy to stop playing and switch to something else, that’s not to say it's a load of rubbish but it did get a little repetitive.
The match engine on LMA Manager 2007 is a huge let down, especially for a next gen console. The AI of players on the pitch is dreadful, the ball tends to travel through players quite a lot and is it us or does almost every single goal we score comes off of the keeper? Unfortunately you will very quickly find yourself either skipping matches or speeding them up to get them completed a bit quicker.
The interface itself does take a bit of getting used to, the first time you load the game up you'll look at the mass amount of menus and sub menus and gulp. The good thing about this is that everything is split out quite nicely and once you get the hang of where to go and what button to push to get you in and out of menus you'll be able to navigate the game with no problems at all
One thing that confused us to some extent was the transfers, we were finding that players like Terry, Drogba, Henry etc were being sold to rival clubs, it got to a point where you could look at the Chelsea squad and think you were looking at Man Utd's squad! Why this all happened we have no idea, we would like to think that if an update could be worked on to sort this out that it would help the game but only time will tell.

Our Conclusions
We didn't review 2006 last year but did get to play it on more than one occasion and to be honest there isn't a great deal of difference between 06 and 07 however that is the usual scenario with football management games. For a console sim it's not bad but it will definitely struggle in the coming months when Championship manager and Football Manager come out, one thing that is in favour of LMA is that it has experience of being a console sim where as it's competators don't have a great deal. Not brilliant and in our opinion is only for the die hard football management fans.
Overall Score: 6.5/10
