Game Overview
Button Bashing Retro gaming makes a return and it's on the Xbox 360 looking sexier than ever. Marvel Ultimate Alliance sees Captain America, Spiderman, Wolverine and many more team up to take on all the bad guys we have known throughout the years of Marvel Comics, it's the first time that the Super Hero's have teamed up in a computer game like this and it doesn't disappoint!
First of all, when you boot up Ultimate Alliance you'll come across the entrance video, talk about making first impressions! Without a doubt one of the best entrance sequences we have ever encountered in a video game. You'll have to see it to believe it, it is visually stunning and really gets you revved up for starting the game.
Usually at this point we would go off rambling about how good or bad the single player is and the graphics etc but we were so impressed with the online and offline Co-op mode that we had to start with this. Actually, there isn't a great deal to say about it really, you remember back in the day when you had Streets Of Rage and Turtles on the NES, and you and your best mate would sit there for hours beating bad guys up as the came into the screen then once everyone was beaten in that area the screen would move you on to the next part, well, that's basically what we have here with Marvel except a bit more glorified (it is 2006 after all). It's highly addictive, friend making, button bashing action that for some reason just doesn't seem to get boring!
Obviously the single player is the same kind of thing but you sit on your own in front of your TV and play it on your own with no one to chat too or show the new move you have just figured out, because, your on your own! (Get some mates!).
You'll no doubt pick out a few problems here and there as you do with all games, one problem is that some of the enemies can be a little tricky to spot as they seem to have the same colour outfit as the floor and therefore are camouflaged, which is a right pain in the backside, but you brush it to one side because at the end of the day it is a very enjoyable game to play.

Our Conclusions
If you’re a fan of Double Dragon, Streets of Rage or the bit more up to date X-Men Legends then there is no doubt that Marvel Ultimate Alliance is right up your street. Great gameplay, beautiful graphics and really brings the fun back into gaming as well. Highly recommended and to show that we know what we are talking about it has been confirmed that it smashed its predicted sales records over the first weekend! You know you want this game, don't resist it!
Overall Score: 8.5/10
