Game Overview
"Step into the boots of Boyd Travers, Private First Class of the 82nd Airborne Division and engage in battles throughout Europe. From rocky beginnings in Sicily to war-winning triumphs in Germany, each mission begins behind enemy lines, with an intense and fully interactive airdrop. Your ability to determine your own starting point dramatically changes the way each mission plays out. View the entire operation from the air, and then control your parachute to choose your landing spot. On the ground, gather your senses and assess the terrain. A wide variety of authentic, customizable weapons are at your disposal, each with distinct characteristics. Choose your path in this free roaming FPS environment. Medal of Honor Airborne will also feature exceptionally photo-realistic characters, adding to the intensity of the cinematic, story-driven game."
That just about sums the game up in a nutshell, this was taken from the press release issued to us quite some time ago, obviously reading something like that so far from the release date of the game does get you excited but at the same time makes you wonder whether or not the game will actually be as good as it sounds. What MOH Airborne does is allow you to dictate the way you are going to play the levels out by choosing where you are going to land. Unfortunately though, this "tactic" doesn't really work all that well until you know the levels well and know what to expect from different parts of the map. There are of course marked zones where the game recommends you to land but that defeats the point of the freedom you have whilst in the air parachuting into battle.
Once you have landed the fighting is almost instant, depending on where you choose to land of course. In battle the game will play very much like any other WWII shooter, no surprise there really. Levels do seem to be quite large and in certain parts of levels you'll come up against fairly stiff resistance from Nazi enemies. Out of recent WWII titles we are fairly confident in Airborne being one of the toughest and should offer gamers a good challenge, the feeling of accomplishment when you finish a level or when an achievement pops up is very rewarding so as you can imagine gaining all 1000 points from Airborne is going to take some doing!
As with all WWII games in recent times, surround sound is almost a necessity and Airborne is no different. We are fairly confident in our hearing and although MOH sounds great it doesn't quite match up to what CoD has to offer but you'll still get the sound of bullets fizzing past your head and coupled with a big screen HD TV you are guaranteed a very impressive gaming experience from MOH Airborne.

Our Conclusions
Solid turnout once again from the MOH franchise, there is some very stiff competition in the WWII FPS genre at the moment with CoD4 on the horizon, not to mention 2 & 3 still getting a run out on thousands of consoles around the world and Hour of Victory a recent release from Midway, and of course competition on the PS3 also takes RFOM into account. So as you can see it isn't going to be easy for MOH Airborne to come out on top but we are fairly sure it will be there or there abouts when it's all said and done.
Overall Score: 7.5/10
