NHL 07 by EA Sports
Available on Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, PSP & PC

Fast paced, heavy hitting and more action packed than Lee Evans on steroids! The new edition to the amazing NHL series from EA has arrived and we have been given the pleasure of reviewing it!

Game Overview
For most of you out there, who, like us, can't ice skate to save their lives, this is as close as you can get to playing one of the most skillfull sports in the world. NHL just doesn't get anymore realistic (until 2008 comes out).

If you are the proud owner of an Xbox 360 and an HDTV, NHL 2007 is going to make you dribble and quite possibly impress and amaze you so much that, through excitement a little bit of wee comes out. The graphics are superb, the shine on the ice as well as the players helmets (crash helmets on their head that is) is simply stunning, it's hard to imagine that a few years ago we though graphics coudn't get any better but they have, and NHL 2007 is living proof of how far gaming has come.

The in game sound is very entertaining, just like Ice Hockey in real life cracking tunes are used whilst there are breaks in play, the usual NHL hooter noises when someone scores, all sound really crisp and the attemp at trying to replicate the sounds within the actual ice rink is brilliant, finding a fault with the graphics or the sound is one heck of a task and to be be honest we aren't going to waste our time, there is so much fun to be had with NHL 2007 you are wasting valuable gaming time!

Online gaming also doesn't get much better than what is presented to you with NHL 2007, there is still a few jittery moments when one of you has a bit of a slow connection and for some reason the EA servers aren't all that amazing but you can easily get game after game completed and enjoy whooping the living daylights out of someone half way around the world, you won't get so much joy from a game as you do when you beat a Canadian at their own sport! Oh how sweet!

There isn't really much we can find wrong with NHL 2007, if anything then it would have to be that Shoot-Outs take absolutely ages as it is so hard to score, obviously it's not easy to score past a 200lb bloke with half a tonne of protective clothing strapped to him, but at least it's still possible, it is almost impossible to score in a shoot-out and does lead to games lasting half an hour longer than they should do! A little frustrating to say the least, and if anyone knows an easy way to score from a shoot-out please let us know!

Our Conclusions
All in all, NHL 2007 is a cracking game, a lot of effort has gone in to making this look the best NHL game ever and the hard work has not gone to waste, there is plenty to do within the game, more than enough to master and once you have mastered it, it's still a very challenging game with stacks of re-playability!

Overall Score: 9/10
