Game Overview
Live and die by the sword! Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is inspired by the events, environments and characters surrounding the second and third installments of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Players must demonstrate their cunning, swashbuckling creativity and swordsmanship as they encounter all manner of crazed pirates and cursed creatures in treacherous, exotic locations. Play as the eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann to prevent Jack’s dark past from catching up with him.
Enjoy sword-assisted acrobatics, adaptive combat and classical dueling in unique gameplay. Experience the Pirates of the Caribbean world in never-before-seen detail, going beyond the films’ events and storylines to introduce new locations, an extended story, legendary pirates and a unique ending.
Graphics do look good throughout the game although some of the real life characters do look a little dodgy at times, the made up characters like Davey Jones look excellent throughout. Landscapes can sometimes look a little faded and pastely (is that a word? It is now!) but in general you should find that the graphics are of quite a good standard.
Gameplay is fairly addictive but at times quite annoying and repetitive. We found that we could finish a level until all the levels collectables had been found which helped us boost our gamerscore as most of the points for the game come through finding these carefully hidden treasure chests but the fighting does become a little tedious although the characters you are fighting change from level to level the AI isn't brilliant and you'll find yourself barely getting scratched whilst taking on 6 men at a time.
Some of the voice acting is a little bad at times and the animations when confronting someone in a duel don't help matters. The duels themselves are a very good idea where you have to defend yourself by blocking your opponents attack; this is done by pushing the analogue stick in the same direction as your attacker. Unfortunately, though it's a good idea at times it seems so slow and slugish and gives you the impression that the swords being used weigh a tonne, this really could have done with being a bit quicker, even towards the end of the game as they start getting more difficult its still a bit too slow.

Our Conclusions
There is no doubt that Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End is better than most people expected, graphics look good, gameplay is fairly addictive and you wont stop till the game is finished. POTC isn't going to be everyones cup of tea so we would recommend a weekend hire first.
Overall Score: 6.5/10
