Game Overview
Widely thought to be one of the best racing simulation titles of all time, PGR offers the gamer an insight into the world of street racing in a bit more of an arcade way than other titles such as the ever popular Forza Motorsport and Playstations Gran Turismo, both of which have more of a simulation feel to them where customization is almost as big as the actual racing. The PGR series has always be and remains purely about racing and racing in style with points awarded for burnouts, drifting, drafting and now, Pulling Wheelies!
In case you hadn't heard, PGR4 has thrown Motorbikes in the mixer, so as well as having the choice from just Aston Martins, Lamborghini's and Ferrari's, you now have Ducati's, Suzuki's and Kawasaki. The bikes are surprisingly good on handling and are probably a good starting point for people trying to learn how to drift and rack up some Kudos points as they do seem to handle long drifts a little better than cars.
Graphically you won't be let down, the cities look superb with amazing lighting effects on buildings and the cars, and generally there is a definite improvement over PGR3 however in some instances the cars themselves can look a little shoddy at times but the scenery definitely makes up for it.
Achievements are very well spread out and require you to play online and offline to gain them. Anything from winning your first race to buying a gamerpic, don't worry, that doesn't mean you have to part with extra dosh, you buy it with your kudos points earned in game, although you do have to earn 1,000,000 of them, which is not easy!
Online for us isn't quite as good as 3 however 3 was out of this world, 4 is just amazing, not quite out of this world. All the options are there for different types of races and tracks, there is a wide range of players playing around the clock who will smoke you from start to finish which can be a little frustrating at times, get yourself a good group of mates all about the same quality and you really can have some blinding online sessions that last for hours.

Our Conclusions
Highly anticipated by gamers around the world and we can understand why, Microsoft have yet again outdone themselves and produced one of the best racing games we have ever played. For us 3 is a little bit better and im sure 3 will get another run out on the 360 at some point in the future as it truly is a classic but we are fairly confident though that 4 will in time become a classic title. If you enjoyed 3 you will definitely enjoy 4 and there should be enough variety with tracks and vehicles to warrant a purchase.
Overall Score: 8.5/10
Thanks to Microsoft
