Game Overview
For a long time now people have been moaning about EA releasing new titles year in year out and essentially taking the shine off of great games. EA have always been "guilty" of these accusations and to be fair, we can understand why. But then they release a range of games that completely blow you away and all those accusations get thrown out of the window! The 08 range, from what we have played so far, is superb. Tiger Woods doesn't let the side down.
In recent years, and since the 360 has been released the Tiger Woods series have been a bit varied, 2006 wasn't great and the difficulty in getting a full round of golf played online was very frustrating, 07 came along last year and made up for things with some stunning visuals, addictive gameplay and an online system which worked (kind of). 2008 is now hear and although early signs for online aren't great there does seem to be massive advances in the online support and gaming which has really impressed us.
The gameplay itself hasn't changed all that dramatically, but they have now implemented a very clever 'shot confidence' system which remembers previous shots on holes that you may have messed up or the complete opposite and stiffed one a foot from the pin, it then adjusts your aiming circle accordingly which makes it a little harder to be accurate with your shot, thus making the game that tad harder, of course if you are good at the game then confidence is no factor.
A good amount of courses and a whole host of new characters adds a bit of variation to the game from 2007 and there should be enough there for the avid Tiger Woods fan to get excited about and warrant a purchase, however if you are swaying on whether or not to buy 2008 then the Gamernet should do the job in helping you part with your cash.
Gamernet is a new addition by EA which brings more of a community feel and competitive edge to the online world of Tiger Woods. If you have a particularly good shot, or 9/18 holes you are able to save your round/shot and upload it onto the EA servers for other people to play against and try to beat your score. You set the rules on what they have to achieve in order to beat you i.e. amount of birdies or eagles in a round as well as scoring better than you. So the lifespan of Tiger 08 is very extensive and not just the usual Tiger Challenge, PGA Season and a few online games.

Our Conclusions
2007 was a cracking game and one that still got a run out on the 360 up until the release of 2008, now 2008 is here we can put 07 on the classic games shelf and maybe we'll load it up in a few years time to relive some memories but for now we are hooked on Tiger Woods 2008 and the love affair with a computer game continues! Long live Tiger!!
Overall Score: 9/10
Thanks to EA as usual.
