Game Overview
The best thing about Top Spin 2 as well as the original and probably any Tennis game ever made is that you can just pick up and play them, there is no problems with learning what to do or how to do it, as long as you know the rules of Tennis then you are set, only when you really start getting into the game and playing online etc is when you need to learn about risk shots and perfecting your game, otherwise you can happily play this game without getting to involved.

The career mode is what you would expect from a Tennis game, training yourself up to play in the next Grand Slam, you are able to pick and chose which trainer you have and each one will provide better knowledge of certain styles of play which will increase your stats quicker in different areas in order to make yourself the best. The gameplay within the career mode is incredibly easy to begin with, however it does become quite difficult very quickly and the difficulty does become a factor when you’re throwing a hissy fit because the AI has just put another shot completely out of reach and you have lost yet another game! Persistence is key here, keep playing and you will eventually notice some kind of pattern to the computers game and will be able to determine shots a lot easier.

The graphics are pretty good, nothing amazing but not too shoddy, there isn't really much that can be said about the graphics, they're just good! As for the sound to the game, the effects are spot on, the contact sound between ball and racquet doesn't sound quite right but apart from that it sounds like a sunny afternoon on the courts at Wimbledon! The music in the game does get very boring and repetitive and doesn't seem to suit the game we found that we were actually turning the volume down as it was doing our nut!

Our Conclusions
Unfortunately Top Spin 2 will get boring and repetitive within a month or so depending on how much you play it, if you love Tennis then you'll be happy for ages with Top Spin 2, for us it doesn't "Top" the original Top Spin and we had expected a little bit more from the new title, Xbox Live will keep the lifespan of Top Spin 2 up a little but obviously your going to have to fork out for Xbox Live in order to get the most from this game.
